Hi, I’m Lauren Callender, a painter and interior design enthusiast living in Gisborne, New Zealand, with my husband and two boys. I’ve always been inspired by the stunning landscapes around me, especially the dramatic scenery of the Gisborne region and my immediate surroundings at home, where my studio is. I love working with acrylic paints on canvas. I’m drawn to the ever-changing light, clouds, and hills, as well as the native birds that make this place so special. My goal is to capture the essence of these natural elements and bring them to life through my art, and colour plays a huge part in that for me. My tones aren't bright, but they are strong! I also create custom pet portraits to celebrate the special bond we share with our pets. These portraits are a lovely way to honor our furry friends. Additionally, I paint custom landscapes that hold significance for my clients, working from their photographs to create something truly personal and meaningful.
