At Totara Cottage Apothecary everything is made in small batches by hand, with aroha.  My practice embraces the natural rhythms of nature — attuning to the seasons and the cycles of the moon, and using, what I like to call, “Slow medicine”. This is a ritualistic part of my daily life, growing, harvesting and making medicine to develop a relationship with the plants and a deeper understanding of the science, art and magic of herbal medicine.  Working towards a long term goal of growing all the herbs used for the small batch herbal delights you will find here and those I use to make tinctures for people in my clinic and for the workshops I run.  Hopefully in enjoying my bespoke herbal offerings you will find a connection to the wonderful health, healing, ritual and magic that plants offer us all.  Sarah Beresford Sadek
