I wanted to do a little painting in celebration of Gisborne's main street, Gladstone Road. Like many small towns, it has seen better days - empty buildings are common and some maintenance is needed. This piece is a nod to when it was in it's prime - when people would dress up to go into town complete with hats and gloves, bunting was hung and shops were full. The town clock is still standing proud though and I hope one day we will see our main street with its finery once more! This is a high quality photo print of an original painting.
